When you’re hauling serious weight, this wheel is built to keep up. The Taskmaster Steel Dual Wheel measures 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" and carries a 6,200-lb capacity. It’s designed for dual setups with a ±6.19" offset and a 6.5" pilot diameter, so it can serve as either the inner or outer position in a dually configuration without compromise.
Whether you’re setting up inner or outer wheels, the built-in offset does the positioning for you. The ±6.19" offset places the wheel closer to the frame when mounted inside or further out when used outside, keeping your spacing just right for dual-wheel alignment and stability.
Long-term exposure is tough on steel, but this wheel’s finish stands up to it. The surface goes through a zinc phosphate bath for adhesion, gets an e-coat acrylic primer, and is finished on both sides with baked-on DuPont white powder coat. It’s a layered defense that keeps rust at bay and the wheel looking clean season after season.
The center disc is spun-formed from fine-grained steel and welded into place for added durability. The result is a sturdy wheel built to meet SAE J1204 standards, ready to take on heavy-duty work without flexing under load.
This stud-piloted (Budd-type) design centers on the studs instead of the hub and uses separate inner and outer lug nuts (sold separately). The setup ensures proper fitment and secure mounting on each side of your dual-wheel assembly.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today we're gonna take a look at this Task Master 17 and half inch by six and three quarter inch white steel dual wheel, with the 10 on eight three quarter inch bolt pattern. Now this is a heavy duty steel wheel. It is designed for use on dually trucks, buses, and trailers. It is a steel wheel, has the two handhold design.
You can see right here, one on each side. It is very sturdy and corrosion resistant. Now this wheel does have a high offset design which allows the wheel to be used as either an inner wheel in this position, or if you turn it around is an outer wheel on a dual wheel setup. The offset that this wheel has is a positive or negative depending on how the wheels use of 6.19 inches. The wheel does have a three step finishing process which includes a zinc phosphate bath, then an eco primer, and then a nice white powder coat on both sides of the wheel.
The center disportion right here, it is spun form from a fine grain steel and it is welded into place for strength and durability. Now this wheel is a stud piloted also known as a bud type wheel which will center on the studs instead of the hub. And because of that it'll require the use of inner and outer lug nuts for installation. Those we do sell separately. They are listed on this product page as a related product.
And the nuts should be threaded correctly cause they come in a left and a right side nut for your trailer or truck. Do you notice it does include this nice metal valve stem right here, which is included installed onto the wheel. And this wheel does meet the SAEJ 1204 standards. Few dimensions. Again, if we measure the diameter on this it's 17 and a half inches.
The width is measured inside the inside right here. So from here to here, it's gonna be right at six and three quarter inches. The bolt pattern, if you wanna measure the bolt pattern's pretty simple cause you have an even number of lugs. In this case, 10. So the lug holds go directly across from each other. So all you have to do is measure from the center of one lug hole to the center of the opposite lug hole. On this one it would measure eight and three quarter inches. So it's a 10 lug, eight and three quarter inch bolt pattern. Now the pilot hole, which is this large hole here in the center of the wheel, that's gonna measure 6.5 inches and the weight capacity on this wheel is 6,200 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this Task Master 17 and a half inch by six and three quarter inch wide steel dual wheel with the 10 on eight and three quarter inch bolt pattern..

Frustrating that these nice wheels come with crummy valve stems. The wheels are rated for 3860lbs. The only way to get there is to use 110 psi tires, which requires a metal valve stem. Would be much better for them to come without valve stems and give us the option on selecting a valve stem during checkout. If nothing else, tell us they come with low pressure stems. I bet there is more than a few people running around at 110 psi with the stock stems.
I bought these wheels for use as spares and for the money I would buy these wheels again. These wheels appear well made with good welds. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is because the wheels do not have the notch cut out for the valve stem which means that the valve stem rubs against the wheel. I resolved this by removing the valve stems that came with the wheels and installed curved metal stems. These wheels are not as heavy as my factory wheels. Again, my factory wheels I was quoted $200.00 each and this wheel is $xx.xx, so for a spare, you do the math! Etrailer was great to work with.
These wheels look good and seem to be of good quality. They arrived in good time. I purchased these for my 1985 ford class c motorhome .
The price seemed really reasonable. These wheels are 16" to replace the original 16.5" wheels currently on the vehicle. The 16.5" tires, I here, going the way of the dinosaur. I won't be installing these until next spring. The agents I talked with seemed very knowledgeable and courteous.

I was looking for what I thought would be easy to find common replacement wheels for a dual tandem trailer, I was having no luck finding any decently priced wheels locally so I Shopped online and found the E-Trailer website. It was easy to navigate and had good descriptions of the wheels and the prices were half of anything local. They shipped them for free after a specified amount, (gotta love free shipping). The wheels arrived in well packaged packaging and were just as described. My original tires were mounted on the new rims and I was quite surprised that they required hardly just one wheel weight each compared to the original rims that had weights lined up on both sides they were so bad, just goes to show the high quality of manufacturing that e-trailer carries. The only problem now is that the rest of my wheels look really bad in comparison and I'm tempted to replace the other six............................Hmmmm........ Maybe later.
