Can an RV Exterior Ladder Be Added to 1996 Safari Serengeti 38-Foot Diesel Pusher

Question:

I was wondering before buying the Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder w/ Hinges - Aluminum - 99-1/2inch T x 13inch W - Black product from you if it was compatible wit my 1996 Safari Serengeti 38foot diesel pusher? The General RV Center said it wasnt properly supportive. Is that true or false? Is there a way to reinforce the body to handle this ladder or one for it. I have seen online my exact same model with a ladder on the rear. All information would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

An RV ladder like the Stromberg Carlson # LA-401BA must mount to some part of the RV's interior frame structure, not just to its exterior skin, in order to support the weight load of an adult. The only party that can properly tell you if your particular RV has sufficient mounting points for a ladder is the RV manufacturer.

Your best bet would be to contact the RV manufacturer with the unit's series name, model number and VIN. Unfortunately, as you likely know already, Safari went under in 2009. You might be able to get help from the parent company, Monaco. You can reach their tech line at 877-466-6226. You'll want to have as much information as possible handy when you call.
