Brake Controller Wiring Harness for Hopkins Brake Controller on a 2014 Ram 1500

Question:
Please help... I am about to purchase a Hopkins controller, and I have already ordered a Hopkins 53055 Plug-In Simple Brake Control Connector which I was told is the correct connector for my truck. However, another source has told me that the Dodge Rams years 2013 and 2014 were wired differently, and that this will not work. Can you please provide some insight to the issue, and whether or not I am looking at buying the right products to do the job? Please email me response. Thank you

Hopkins brake controller wiring harness # HM53055 is indeed the correct harness for your 2014 Ram 1500. Whatever other source you are looking at is misinformed. The 2013 and 2014 Rams do have a different electrical system called the Powernet which is a multiplex system. This required a unique wiring harness design with 2 plugs that plug into the vehicle instead of just one like other harnesses. The HM53055 harness does have the 2 plugs and will function properly.
