Trunk-Mount Bike Rack for 2009 Honda Civic DX 2-Door Coupe for Schwinn Womans Beach Cruiser Bike

Question:

I have a 2009 Honda Civic DX two door coupe. The trunk has a little spoiler if you look at a picture for that years model. I have a womens Schwinn strand cruiser. Which is the most secure non-sway carrier to put on my car to carry this type of bike? I have an Allen bike carrier right now, but I got scratches on my car because it doesnt hold the bike far enough from the car trunk.

Some beach cruisers and mountain bikes can have very wide handlebars that can make it tough to fit them on some trunk racks without the bars making contact with the car. I checked the Schwinn website and could find no bike called a Strand but since its a beach cruiser we know enough to help you select a carrier that will fit your Civic and handle your bike.

Often beach cruiser riders will select a rack with more capacity than they actually need in order to gain some extra clearance. Even if you are transporting only one or two bikes, a 3-bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top 3 Bike Carrier # HRF2-3 might be the way to go.
