Recommended Bike Rack for Jeep with 35 Inch Tires
Published 04/10/2015 >
Question:
Hi, I decided to put a 3 inch lift and 35 tires on my Jeep. The Spare Tire is also a 35. I also upgraded the tail gate support to the TerraFlex to handle the extra weight. What do you recommend to make sure I clear the spare tire without sticking out too much? I only need to carry 2 bikes. Thanks

In order to determine the correct bike rack for your Jeep, you'll need to measure to find out how much clearance you'll need. Starting at the hitch pin hole, measure rearward until you clear the rear edge of the spare tire (I've linked you to an FAQ article that shows how this is done.)
You'd then choose a bike rack whose shank length (distance from hitch pin hole to closest portion of the rack) is longer than the measurement you took. For instance, if the measurement you took is less than 11 inches, the Swagman Trailhead # S63360 would work well.
