Question:

I Havfe a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with a 3.2 and a towing package. I am wondering what is the maximum tounge weight it can handle ? The specs state it can tow 4500 lbs but I dont see a tounge weight anywhere.

Unless otherwise noted your tongue weight capacity would be 450 lbs as the tongue weight capacity for a vehicle is almost always 10 percent of the total trailer weight it can tow.

I attached a couple FAQ articles on towing to the right that you might find informative as well.

I see there are specs for the V6 tongue weight but what is the capacity for the hemi V8 5.7 which is very common engine in the jeep grand cherokee as well. Equipped with a tow package?

The owner's manual for the Cherokee doesn't list a separate capacity for models with that engine. You may want to check with a local Jeep dealer to see if they have any additional insight.
