Flat Towing Wiring For A 2017 Kia Soul

Question:

I’m prepping my Kia Soul as a toad. My RV has the standard 7 wire receptacle. Question #1: - I have wired my car for separate wires for turn and brake, since the kia does have separate bulbs for each. - My RV receptacle has one pole as LT/brake, one pole for RT/brake. - Do I have a problem with incompatibility, since the RV end has combination turn/brake poles and my toad has separate wires for for each? How can I make this work? Question#2: Here’s what I see as my signal/power requirements in a cord: - lights -LT -RT -brake -power for a battery maintainer -ground -a wire for a toad braking indicator. That is 7 wires. I have only seen 7-wire to 6-wire connector cables. Is there such a thing as 7-wire to 7-wire set?

My recommendation is to use a 4-diode universal towed vehicle wiring kit like # DM9523010-54. What this does is easily allows you to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your towed vehicle's lighting system wires towed car as a combined lighting system so that brake and turn signals travel along the same wire.

This kit also includes a 6 way to 7 way coiled cord that will connect to your motorhome and your Kia Soul as well as, all the necessary hardware to install.

You shouldn't have a problem with compatibility as long as the wires are going to the correct places.
