Will a Robin Industries 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit Reese Rails in a 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500
Question:
I have a 2008 chev 3500 4x4 long box dually and want to no wat bracket kit to use for frame to fifth wheel? How ever I do not have a Reese hitch! I have a robin pivit fifth wheel hitch 16k model #21555 and would like to know if Reese frame kit will bolt up? The rails look the same on this hitch as to compare with Reese !

I did some research on Robin Industries 5th wheel hitches and found some pictures and they did look like they would fit in Reese rails. To be sure there are some measurements that are important. The mounting slots on the Reese rails measure approximately 22 inches apart on center.
When measuring from side to side the inside set is 10 inches apart on center. The middle set is 20-1/5 inches apart on center. The outside set is 29 inches apart on center. There are some very specific measurements which I have included in a picture for you.
If the hitch tabs match the above dimensions then it will most likely fit. However, the rails have not been tested with a Robin Ind. hitch so Reese cannot say if it will fit or not.
For your 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500 I recommend a custom installation kit # RP50064-58. The custom kit requires much less drilling when compared to a universal kit and it will install in less time. I have incldued a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.
The installation kit you have referenced, # RP50066-58, will not fit a 2008 Silverado. It is designed for 2011 to 2013 models.
