Best 2014 Nissan Murano Cargo Carriers

We just installed our carrier. We love that this is going to free up a lot of space for our vacation traveling. Very heavy duty and bigger than i was thinking it would be.The pin that holds the carrier in the hitch was not included. It would have been an added bonus if it was.

Product was easy to assemble and install. Product is as specified in all the online details. I can get two ice chests and my 10x10 shade canopy on this basket and it saves us a lot of room inside our 2014 Nissan Murano. Very happy with the product and with etrailer.com.

I've been using this Cargo Carrier on my 4 Runner Venture for about a year now. I Purchased this item to haul extra gear to Nags Head from Northwestern Virginia. Installation was a breeze and it's very, very sturdy. I had two Yeti coolers packed with ice and drinks and there was no wobbling at all. I'm a 197 pounds and I was standing on it after I installed it just to check for durability and this thing is a beast. I also used this as a rod holder while on the beach and I caught a 6 foot black tip shark. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item and I would recommend to a friend.

Well, my second review this week and I'm sorry to say it isn't great. Delivery and quality was good but I may be sending this back. Since I should have thought about this I'm not giving it a bottom rating. I have a 2019 murano and we have a trip coming up and needed some extra space so I thought having this would be a good idea but our Murano is equipment with rear sonar and collision detection. With the carrier on and extended or folded the car detects a collision and is constantly applying the brakes when in reverse. Disabling the sonar gets rid of the noise that constantly sounds but the collision detection is still stopping the car. Will be going by Nissan today to see if they have any advice, I suspect that I will need a wiring harness which somehow disables the collision detection when plugged in, that's ok with a trailer but not this cargo carrier, it will not be blocking my tail lights or license plate so I wasn't going to install one. Unclear if the wiring harness from eTrailer will disable the system if plugged in and worse is I'm not sure if it will render the system completely useless. Product quality is good so if you don't have these features then I would recommend this carrier. It's solid and quite once mounted. Afraid to take a long trip as there will be times when you need reverse and backing up 2 feet at a time before stopping is a pain. If I can get this working I would happily give this 5 stars.

Product came ahead of schedule. Everything was included and worked as expected. The only problem was the stopping collar had a stripped bolt but this is more a convenience than functional. Replacement was sent immediately. I’ve used this several times already to transport my snowblower. It’s rock solid! One concern is the mounting bolt that takes a lot of effort to ratchet on every time. Time will tell if the threads hold up. Would have given Four stars because the broken part should have been caught before shipping but customer service was awesome! One suggestion. A quick video on assembly (not just mounting and operation) would help. The diagrams on instructions don’t show the placement of the washers that well.

Great product. Great quality. Instructions not real clear, so took me a couple of hours to assemble. Then another 15-20 minutes to secure to roof racks. I was working alone, extra hands would have helped. But extremely happy with quality and looks of product. We have lots of family that visit us, so I plan to carry luggage on the rack to free up space inside the vehicle on trips to and from the airport.

Love it! It's big enough to fit a bike carrier and a cargo bag on top of my MINI. Easy to assemble and install, solid construction. Great value for your money. If I have a gripe it's that the wind fairing on the front is VERY thin/fragile. I caught it with my bike tire when loading one day and the corner snapped right off like nothing. It's only about $XXX for the replacement.

Well done Yakima and etrailer. Great product and great service. The product is well made (in Taiwan....not China) and the parts and instruction video made it relatively" easy to install. Two people helps to install it more readily. The wind diffuser in the front greatly reduces wind noise. All in all very happy and glad I bought through etrailer. Service was excellent and delivery prompt.

Great quality and serves its purpose. I wish I ordered the slightly bigger one to fit the bins and items I use it for. For example, a white standard igloo cooler doesn’t fit the way I need it to maximize loading capacity. I highly recommend a stabilizer to prevent wobble.

A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.

This cargo carrier worked great. Used it to move a rototiller, 2 hour trip. No damage or deformation to the carrier despite the tiller being near the top of the weight limit. The hitch bolt held the carrier firmly in place. It doesn't come with the lights, I installed light kit Item # 52014. Just had to drill four small holes (I knew this light kit wasn't specifically designed for this carrier, just wanted something cheap). Works great on a Town Car, lots of ground clearance. I'm very happy with this product.

This cargo carrier is sturdy and works well on a Mazdaspeed 3. The rise and slight angle make it so clearance is not an issue. The carrier is very easy to put together. I did install the 8 bolts through the connecting plates in reverse of the instructions so cargo would not be scratched or torn. It adds so much cargo space for our growing family. The only drawbacks are a lack of license plate frame and reflectors which are easily added with very little cost. I used a Cruiser license mount plate with zip ties and Reese DOT approved reflectors. I don't plan to use the carrier at night but there are many license plate lights that can be added as well. I also purchased the Rola carrier bag for hauling luggage and other indoor items.

I replaced an old Thule box with this. My opinion is that the locking mechanism, the clamping system, and the hinges are superior to the Thule's. Especially the locking mechanism. I used to have to wrestle the Thule box to get things lined up so that I could close and lock the box. And the bonus is that this box was less money (than an equivalent Thule) and eTrailer shipped it for free!

We have not yet taken the Skybox on a road trip so I can't talk about the box itself. But I can talk about the buying experience at etrailer. 5 stars!. There was a wealth of helpful information about the various choices for cargo carriers, including dimensions and clearance requirements, and I found the installation videos extremely valuable. Great personalized follow-up after the order was placed and after arrival. The Skybox arrived on time, well packed and in great shape.

I was hesitant to spend this much money on a cargo box that won't get used but a couple of times per year but I'm glad I did!! The quality of this box is excellent and it is really, really easy to mount. It is a bit awkward to carry for one person but with the help of another person it's very easy to carry and put on top of the car. The gloss black looks really nice and sleek. The 16 cubic foot capacity really opens up space inside our car and will make longer road trips much more manageable and comfortable. Being able to load the box from either side is a game changer! I also really like how it locks and how it has a notification if all latches are not engaged. As of writing this review, I have not actually tested it loaded or at highway speeds but I'm very confident it will perform as expected. Now I have to figure out how to store it!!

Came broken and obviously used already. Just like everything else in my order. Top was scraped up and cling wrap removed. Which I could have lived with. The front right hung was completely snapped off. Which for safety reasons is a big deal. So disappointed with etrailers quality for this order.

This rooftop cargo box was perfect for my needs. While large, I had no problem getting it on the roof of my MDX. It was easy to adjust to fit my crossbar spacing, and felt very secure. I was able to fit a lot in the box, freeing up needed room in the cabin. The design of the box resulted in negligible wind noise and change in mpg. Very happy with the purchase.

The Thule was delivered without any problems in May 2022 with no damage, so I’m very happy about that. The large 16 cubic ft rooftop carrier is quite big, but it doesn’t seem to make any noticeable wind noise. I’ve only had it up to 60mh so far on my Honda Civic, but it seems fairly aerodynamic. Not sure how much it will affect the miles per gallon yet. It seems like a very lightweight rig, hopefully it holds up well, but only time will tell. I purchased the gray color hoping it wouldn’t get as hot in the sun as the all black model. Probably wouldn’t have bought it but it’s too costly to drive my truck on long trips due to bidenflation. This should save me some gas money and give our family a little more room to haul stuff in the car. It was very easy to clamp onto the Thule bars I already had, and just as easy to take off. etrailer did a great job, 5stars!

Very interesting! I am pleased with this purchase. All of this equipment is well built and was designed with ease of use and security in mind. The hitch part is surprisingly pretty heavy, but once it is connected this weight gives the hitch a sturdy feel. The lockers are pretty big and the material though light weight feels like it will hold up to some rough miles and a few bruises. It is so nice to have this much dry secure and easy to access storage outside of our vehicle. Customer service was excellent and delivery times were surprisingly short.

Very easy to install. Total installation time (not counting taking photos and opening boxes) was approximately 15 minutes. The only issue I encountered was the left handle on the lower rack had a broken piece inside the locking pin assembly. Other than that, everything was quick and smooth for a single person job. This will greatly assist my business by allowing more room for passenger comfort on long trips to and from airports with a large party. Looking forward to putting this to use.

Customer service goes a long way in my book and how an item is presented on its website I've boughten stuff from etrailer before for my prior truck and always had an amazing experience with Etrailer.this is my first cargo box for my new to me Subaru Impreza sport hatchback and doing research on buying one wasn't easy but etrailer made the process quick and painless with exactly what I needed and dimensions were spot on and instructions were perfect couldn't be any more happier with my purchase.the trunx's brand box perfectly compliments my car and looks awesome on it thanks again etrailer you guys rock

Although I just received the Trunx Carrier, and it has been raining almost continuously here, I am impressed with the quality of the product. I still have to drill four new holes to mount the carrier, but you provide on your web site a great video specific to that job. I hope to get it mounted this weekend, and see how long my wife (who does all the driving) allows me to keep it on the van. We won't really use it until mid-April. That etrailer.com made it easy to find a carrier, and videos for our Chrysler 2014 Town and Country Van, gave us a secure feeling about the purchase. I just wish they were located a bit closer to Southern CA. Hope to add photos once it stops raining, and I am able to install the carrier.

The box is great, kept everything dry. No noise or rattle. Dont skimp out on a good set of rack bars. Easy install. Made it 3000 miles up the AlCan highway.
