Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro platform style, bike rack. That part number is TH9034. Now, we already have our bike in place on our rack. We're first going to go over a feature that's really great about this rack. We can actually tilt this rack away from our vehicle with our bike still attached. To do so, we're going to come down here and grab our handle.



Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Saris Bones Hitch Mounted 2 Bike Rack. That part number is SA882. Now, we already have our bike in place, but first I'm going to show you how we do that. We have 3 straps altogether, 2 on our frame here, and we have 1 as our anti-sway strap from the back. With those released, we can pull out our bike off the rack, and set it off to the side, and then I suggest you replace your strap so you don't lose or damage them. Now we'll take a few measurements.



Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge TH9029XT

Today in this 2010 Ford Edge, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9029XT. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look at it and show off some of the features. Now, first to have the bike attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with he bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top here, and off to the side here which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from either hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and just set it aside. Now, when you remove straps, it's always good practice to put them back into place, primarily because you don't want to loose them while you're driving, and you don't want them flapping around when you're driving, either. With that done, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. The first is going to be how much distance is added to the vehicle once the bike rack is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure form the bumper since that's the furthest point out. From this arm down it's about 37 inches. And our ground clearance ...



Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge TH912XTR

Today on this 2010 Ford Edge, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway two-bike rack. Part number TH912XTR. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rake. Let's go ahead and take a closer look at it, and show off some of the features. How the bike actually attaches to the rack, you're going to have three points of contact with your bikes frame. We're going to have two straps up top here, and one strap off to the side here.



Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on this 2010 Ford Edge we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack part number S63380. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now how the bike is attached to the rack, you're going to have four points of contact with your bikes frame. We're going to have these three straps up top here and one off to the side here which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from going back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack where the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the straps off and set the bike aside. When you remove the straps, it's always a good practice to put them back in to place primarily so you don't lose them while you're driving.
