Best Way To Connect Multi Wires and Lights on a Boat Trailer
Question:
Hello, Im rewiring my boat trailer and need to make several three-way connections. For example, if Im running my 16ga wire from the truck to the back of the trailer and want to add marker lights along that run, how would I do it with water-tight connections? I like to pigtail my connections so if one light goes out it doesnt take out the full run. Thank you

The best way to make water tight wire connections on a trailer are with heat shrink butt connectors; the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connectors part # DW05743-10 for 22-18 gauge, part # DW05744-10 for 16-14 gauge, and part # DW05745-10 for 12-10 gauge. If you need to combine multiple wires, choose the smallest size that both wires will fit inside so you can get a tighter seal on the heat shrink tubing.
