Helpful Expert Reply:
The Wesbar Coiled Trailer Wire with 4-Way Flat Connector, part # 54000-026, when coiled up in a resting position with no tension on it to stretch it, measures approximately 3 feet in overall length. When under significant tension to expand it the overall length is approximately 12 feet. I would say it is best to consider its maximum working length to be 6 to 8 feet. If stretched beyond that point there may be a tendency for the connector to spring back from the tension and become dislodged from the tow vehicle.
