Weight Distribution Hitch for a Nissan Pathfinder
Question:
I am going to pull a 4000 lb gvw travel trailer with Nissan Pathfinder rated at 6000 lb towing. I have a 12000 lb, 1200 lb tongue weight hitch. Will it work ok on this trailer/suv combo?

In order to know if you have an appropriate weight distribution hitch, you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your Nissan Pathfinder.
To determine TW you can use a scale such as the # e99044 or by using one of the methods outlined in the help article on determining TW I've linked for you. The ideal system would be one in which your TW would fall somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.
I've added a link to each of our weight distribution systems should you need one better suited for your tongue weight.
