Comparing Thule CS-10 and CG-9 Tire Chains
Updated 12/01/2014 | Published 11/30/2014 >
Question:
I am interested in the Thule CS-10, but have been told the Thule CK-7 is a better choice provided clearance issues. hat is your thoughts on the chains, compared for on and off, and for use? I read your item on CG-9 vs. CS-10, and agree the ease of use outweighs any slight variance in cost between the 9 and 10.

There isn't a Thule CK-7 tire chain so between the CG-9 and the CS-10 I believe the CS-10 would be better for you since it has ice breakers built into the chains and will install much easier.
The Thule CS-10 tire chain has an external quick release system, they are self tensioning (just put them on and go), they have 10 millimeters clearance inside and on the tread, they feature a diamond pattern with icebreaker reinforcements for added grip, they have anti-scratch nylon bumpers to protect vehicle rims, and they have a color-coded assembly design.
The CG-9 chains are also self tensioning, but do require one stop to fit the chain properly. They have 9 millimeters of clearance and also have the anti-scratch nylon bumpers and color coded assembly design. With these, you are not getting the extra convenience of a quick release, install and go, or icebreaker reinforcements.
I also attached an FAQ article on Thule snow chains that compares the different lines they offer.
