Question:
looking for a Prodigy direct plug in wiring harness for a 1997 Lexus LX450. Do they make one or do I have to use a universal and wire it myself?

Expert Reply:
The 1997 Lexus LX450 was not factory equipped with the connector under the dash for a plug and play brake controller installation, so there's not a plug-and-play brake controller wiring option available. To install a Prodigy P2, you'd need to hard wire the controller using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7. The kit contains everything needed to install a brake controller, but your Lexus will need a functional 4-pole trailer connector. If it doesn't already have one, you can install one using part # 33405.
I'll link you to instructions for install kit and to an install video. The video shows the kit being used on a Toyota FJ Cruiser, but the procedure on your vehicle would be almost identical.
