Question:
I purchased product for my 2000 Ford Ranger. Product Number 40215. When I attach it to my Ranger, I loose the brake lights on my truck, and the brake lights on the trailer do not work. All other lights are working. What should I look for?

According to my Hopkins Trailer Wiring Representative, the # 40215 wiring harness you mentioned fits 1993-1999 Rangers, but not the 2000 model. This explains why it's not working correctly.
For your 2000 Ranger, I'd suggest the Tow Ready # 118344 which is a confirmed fit for your truck.
