Removing the Skid Plate to Install Curt Front Mount Reciever 31313 on a 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD

Question:
What is meant by the bumper ends having to be removed from my Toyota Tacoma to mount this? I assume the skid plate has to go too. Please explain as I want to use it to mount a winch. Truck is 08 Tacoma with TRD Off Road package, 4WD. Thanks!!

On each end on the bumper of your 2008 Toyota Tacoma there is a little plastic cap that covers a bolt. These caps are removed to loosen the bolts for installation of the Curt Front Hitch, # 31313. You are correct that the front skid plate will have to be removed as well. I have included a link to the instructions below.

On a 2005 does the bumper need to be removed? Also where is this bumper cap?
