To determine if the extendable hitch step # HE4045 will fit your 2012 Chevy Silverado you will have to take some measurements. Measure from the bottom of your hitch receiver down 1-5/8 inches. Then from that point measure back up to 22-1/2 inches. If there are no obstructions in that area and you have a 2 inch receiver then you can use the step. I have included a picture that should help.
For a hitch step that doesn't extend we have # MT70069 which costs a little less than the other step. I have linked video reviews of both steps to the right.
