Question:
Looking to buy replacement snap around mounting brackets and quick release attachment screws for a Yakima Fat Cat 6. Dont want the oval shaped mounting brackets that came with an older Fat Cat and want to upgrade to the snap around brackets to match the hardware on a new Fat Cat 6. Can I buy the snap around mounting brackets and associated hardware?

Expert Reply:
We do have the newer style mounting assemblies for the Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard carriers.
It is called the FatCat S-Clamp Assembly, part # Y8860078. This is now made of a pliable rubber, unlike the hard plastic assemblies that were offered previously. This is designed to fit the Yakima crossbars.
If you happen to have round crossbars, you will need part # Y8860081. This is a round bar adapter designed to fit Yakima round crossbars up to 1-1/8 inches diameter.
