Question:
I drive a 2011 Subaru Forester with a Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector C56040. Im considering going to a 7-pole connector. I was thinking the Curt C57674 and the Draw-tite no drill mounting bracket, part 18136. Do I need anything beyond that? Thanks for the help!

Yes, the Curt 4 Pole to 7 Pole Adapter, part # C57674, that you referenced is a confirmed fit with the Curt T-Connector Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # C56040. You will plug the adapter into your existing 4-way. If you want to use the other functions you will need to hardwire the remaining four wires.
Here's how. The White wire with the ring terminal is the ground. The Black wire is the 12-volt power wire and goes to the positive battery terminal via a 40 amp circuit breaker. The Blue wire on the adapter goes to the blue wire on a brake controller. The Yellow wire can be connected to the reverse light wire behind a tail light on your vehicle if the trailer has reverse lights or an electric reverse lockout. If the blue wire and yellow wire are not needed, these wires can be taped and bundled up out of the way.
For a no-drill bracket for a 7-way round trailer connector part # C57202 will work well with your 2011 Subaru Forester. I have included a video review of this part for you to check out.
I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt wiring harness and the Curt adapter for you to check out, as well as video of the adapter being installed on a 2011 Subaru Outback.
Also, I am including a link to a FAQ page on trailer wiring.
