Why Route Transmission Fluid First Through the Factory Cooler then Through Supplemental Cooler

Question:
Why do you run the transmission lines through the stock cooler then the new one

The factory transmission cooler in most vehicles is integrated into the radiator. What this does is actually warm the cooler to the temperature of the radiator. A supplemental cooler does not touch the radiator so it will actually stay cooler than the factory cooler. So if you were to run the fluid through the supplemental cooler first you would cool the fluid and then once it went through the factory cooler it would warm back up to a certain extent.
So the best way to route the cooler is first through the factory cooler which will cool the fluid slightly and then to the supplemental cooler which will cool it even more. I attached a diagram and FAQ article on transmission coolers for you to check out as well.
