Question:
I just purchased a 2014 Nissan Xterra with no tow hitch. Looking through your site it appears what I will need is the hitch receiver 13514 and the Wiring Harness C56225. I saw the 2013 wiring video on your site looking forward to using it if this is what I need. a is this a correct assumption of what is needed to install the receiver and wire my vehicle correctly? b other than the hitch ball / plug are there any other tools/devices that are recommended? Thank you!

Expert Reply:
All of the trailer hitches offered for your 2014 Nissan Xterra are of the 2-inch Class III variety and the Curt hitch you referenced, part # 13514, is indeed a correct fit for your vehicle and is the most popular hitch among owners of the Xterra.
You will, as you noted, need some additional items to enable towing a trailer: a ball mount, hitch ball, pin and clip. We offer a handy all-inclusive kit # 989900 that gives you everything.
For your Xterra we offer wiring harness # C56225 which includes the required relays.
I have linked for you two articles on hitch installation and one on towing basics that will give you the necessary cautions and practices for safe towing.
