Question:
I like the look of this hitch and how it is tucked away. Will this model work on a 2014 Escape SE AWD? It does NOT have the kick open rear hatch. I am wondering since it says it is for 2013, but when you look up 2014 hitches, this one is not listed as available for the 2014 but the C13131 is instead.

Like you said, the 2014 Ford Escape SE requires a different hitch than the 2013 models. If you like the Curt hitches then # C13186 would be the best option.
To complete your towing set up I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It includes 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. And for trailer wiring you can use # 118566. I have linked a video showing installation for you.
