Question:

What rack is best for a 2014 Toyota RAV4? I have a trunk mount rack, but the top straps put pressure on the plastic rear spoiler, visibly pushing it down. A friend warned me the same rack broke the spoiler on his Honda pilot.

I have the perfect trunk mount bike rack for your 2014 Toyota RAV4 that will not even touch that rear spoiler. It is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2 (or # HRF2-3 for 3 bikes).

This rack has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over that spoiler so no weight is put on it (since the spoiler is not meant to support weight). I have included a link to a video that shows how it works.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
