Adjustable Hitch for 2 Inch, 2-5/16 Inch, and Pintle Trailers

Updated 11/07/2026 | Published 11/04/2026

Question:

I have a 2026 Ford F-350 with a 2-1/2" receiver. I pull a utility trailer with a 2" coupler, an equipment trailer with a 2-5/16" coupler, and occasionally a trailer with a lunette ring. I'd like one adjustable hitch that can handle all three instead of swapping ball mounts every time. Do you have something that would work?

Hey Chris, yes we do! For your 2026 Ford F-350 with the 2-1/2" receiver, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow Pintle Hook with Dual Ball Mount # BW77BR. This gives you a 2" ball, 2-5/16" ball, and pintle hook all in one adjustable mount, so you won't have to swap hitches when switching between your trailers.

The 2" ball has a 10,000 lb towing capacity, while the 2-5/16" ball and pintle hook are rated for 21,000 lbs. You also get a 6" drop and 4" rise to accommodate different trailer heights. When you're done towing, the mount flips underneath your receiver to keep it out of the way.

I also recommend the InfiniteRule Hitch Lock Set # IR52FR. This includes five keyed-alike locks that secure the adjustable hitch components and the ball mount to your truck's receiver, helping protect the entire setup from theft.

What kind of equipment are you hauling with your trailers?

Mostly skid steers and compact tractors on the equipment trailer. I also leave my hitch on the truck pretty much all the time. Will the InfiniteRule locks let me keep it secured while still adjusting the height when I switch trailers?

@Chris yes, the # IR52FR locks secure the hitch to your receiver and the adjustable components. You can leave the hitch installed, then unlock and reposition the adjustment pins whenever you need to change the height for a different trailer.

I have a GMC Sierra and I use this hitch to pull my car hauler trailer I use for my side by side. I like the adjustable height and the ability to reverse it. My tailgate folds into a step but it hits the hitch when you fold out the step when it is in position for towing but I can leave it on the truck reversed and it doesn't hit so I always have it when I need it. It adjusts easily. If you are driving on rutty dirt roads it hangs down level with or below the bell housing so it can drag if you are in deep ruts in the reversed position. I have not used it in the pintle set up but it appears to be very capable of doing that. It was a great buy for me and gives me a lot of versatility.

@ChrisM I have these on 3 trucks. They work like a dream. We rotate through the different trailers on a regular basis with ease. You will need to continually check the carter pins if you work around the hitch a lot like we do (climbing in and out the truck). The guys will step on it and the pins will get knocked out. That's just people that don't watch what they're doing on our end, not a flaw of the manufacturing.
