Replacement Leaf Spring Recommendation for 2016 Arctic Fox 25R Travel Trailer

Updated 11/03/2026 | Published 11/02/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a 2016 arctic Fox 25R travel trailer. It is a 1/2” lower on the passenger side. Could this be caused by the equalizer? The leaf spring on the right rear axel is compressed further than the other three. Trailer has about 20k to 30k miles on it. Is the dexter DX45CR my best option. I notice you have a generic spring rated at 2500 lbs instead of 2600. Is this a good option? Can I replace just the pair of leaf springs on the rear axel only, or do I need all four? Appreciate any advice. Thanks

Hey Mike, you are on the right rack to fixing the sag issue you have on the one side of your trailer as it does sound like a worn out leaf spring that is the issue. The part # DX45CR would be a really great option but since it is rated differently than the rest of the other axles leaf springs I would go ahead and recommend changing all 4. It's also very likely with the miles your trailer has that the other springs are on the way to wearing out as well so you may as well do all of them now and not have to think about it.

Thanks for the quick answer. One more question, can I substitute the E44sr for the Dexter 072-025-00? The main difference I see is it’s rated for 2500 lbs instead of 2600lbs.

@MikeK Yes you can use the part # e44SR instead if you like.
