Welcome back, Mark!
You can absolutely use a standard locking pin to secure the ball platform to the shank of the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 6" Drop, 6" Rise - 10,000 lbs # BPH89MR! I went out the our warehouse and measured the outside of the channel that platform fits inside of and it measured 2-5/8" (see included image).
So basically, as long as the lock has a useable span of at least 2-5/8", it's good to go! If you also wanted a recommendation for a lock, the Fastway Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - 2" Hitches - 5/8" Diameter - Qty 1 # FA86-00-3050 would be a perfect fit. It has a 2-13/16" span and the barrel style key is much easier to use with something like this than the more standard flat keys.
What are you going to be using this to tow?

Thank you Lazer. I believe I'll go with the ball mount and your suggested pin.
