Is FR39TQ Ducted or Non-Ducted?

Updated 10/19/2026 | Published 10/16/2026

Question:

This unit is listed as being ducted and I need it for a non-ducted installation on a 2020 Lance 2465 to replace the bedroom unit. Will it work? I don’t see that you sell a non-ducted. Follow-up question: When do you expect these to ship as the are currently listed as preorder.

Hey Jim!

I understand your confusion and I'm sorry about that. The differentiator between a ducted or non-ducted unit would be based on the air distribution box and not the AC unit. The Furrion Chill Low-Profile RV AC # FR39TQ is an AC unit by itself, and doesn't include an air distribution box so it's perfectly fine to install it in your 2020 Lance 2465.

Lance lists the interior height of your trailer as 80", so the perfect distribution box to pair with the # FR39TQ is the Furrion Air Distribution Box # FR38BC. This is a manual distribution box, so you can use the buttons on the face to control your AC, and you don't have to run any wiring or an additional thermostat to control it. The box is compatible with your non-ducted setup, and it includes a remote to operate the unit when you're extra comfortable and don't want to get up to control it.

These are currently showing pre-order, but they are now in stock so they will be able to ship soon after you order. Are you planning an upcoming trip or just getting prepped for the spring?
