Question:
I'm comparing the BTBRV dual-ball mount with the Curt C45002. I need both ball sizes but no rise or drop. Other than the latch, is there a reason to choose one over the other?

Hey Daniel! Both the BTBRV InstaLatch # BTBRV012 and Curt # C45002 have a 2" and 2-5/16" ball on a straight shank, but I'd recommend the InstaLatch hands down.
The InstaLatch has built-in hitch pins and a push-button release, so you can quickly remove and flip it without dealing with a separate hitch pin. This goes a long way when you're towing frequently. It is also rated for 10,000 lbs of trailer weight and 1,000 lbs of tongue weight.
The Curt uses a standard hitch pin and has different ratings depending on the ball you're using. The 2" ball is rated for 7,500 lbs, while the 2-5/16" ball is rated for 10,000 lbs.
I also recommend the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV to eliminate movement in the receiver. You can leave it installed when you remove the ball mount to switch ball sizes, so you don't have to take it off every time. Just keep in mind it is rated for trailers up to 7,000 lbs, so you'll need to disengage it when towing anything heavier.
You can also add the etrailer Lock # e39PR to secure the InstaLatch to your truck.
What kind of trailers are you towing?

I switch between a utility trailer with a 2" coupler and an equipment trailer with a 2-5/16" coupler. Does the InstaLatch have to be completely removed to flip between ball sizes?
