Question:

I have a BX7365 and have two questions. 1 I understand it was discontinued and superceded by another model due to binding. is there an upgrade available for my hitch to correct the issue? 2 Im looking at the BX2908 base plate GX470. will it be compatible with my bx7365? thank you, Chris

Hey Chris!

You're correct! The Blue Ox Alpha BX7365 was replaced by the Alpha 2 # BX7380, which features an improved non-binding design. Unfortunately, there isn't a retrofit kit available to upgrade your existing tow bar.

Your BX7365 will connect directly to the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2908 without any adapters. Just make sure your GX470 falls within the 2004–2007 fitment range.

One thing worth mentioning is that Lexus doesn't officially approve the GX470 for flat towing, even with the transfer case in neutral. Some owners have successfully done it, but I'd recommend verifying the proper drivetrain setup before towing.

Have you already flat towed this vehicle or is this you starting from scratch and needing all the other parts?
