Does The Kwikee SuperSlide II Trim Kit Install Before Or After The Plywood?
Updated 10/12/2026 | Published 10/09/2026 >
Question:
Does the trim kit get installed before or after the plywood is installed or maybe it does not matter? Does the trim kit provide support for the plywood between the rails and along the length of the tray? Im trying to understand what a customer would do if they needed a tray width that does not match up to a trim kit width.

Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out. The Lippert Kwikee SuperSlide II Trim Kit # LC370676 gets installed before the plywood. The kit includes the end trim pieces and three mid-rails that connect the sliding rails and provide support for the plywood floor. Once that framework is assembled, you measure and cut the plywood to fit inside it, then secure it in place.
That said, the trim kits aren't width adjustable so if you intend to use one, your tray width will need to match up with the trim kit width. There are several trim kits available in different widths ranging from 27" wide up to 55" wide, so there are some options to work with.
What tray width are you working with?

Hello Jesse. Thanks for the reply. I am looking at a tray width of around 17". In my mind, I can do without the trim kit. I plan to mount other accessories at each end of the tray so I am not worried about the end pieces. In addition, I feel like if I used 3/4" plywood, that would be more than enough to support anything I put on it, considering the tray will only be 17" wide. The real trick will be getting the rails parallel. However, I do not see that as a huge obstacle, just something to be aware of.
