Will My Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit From A 2018 Tacoma Work On A 2026 Tacoma?

Updated 10/06/2026 | Published 09/30/2026

Question:

I purchased a diode warning harness from you last year for a 2018 Tacoma. Will it work on a 2026 Tacoma I have traded trucks and kept the harness? If so do you have a wiring diagram for installation?

Hello Johnny,

Congrats on the new Tacoma! Although wasn't the 2018 just getting broke in?

Yes, you can reuse it! I see you purchased the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit # RM-15267 for your 2018 Tacoma. This is a universal diode kit and will work with your 2026 Toyota Tacoma as well, so you will not need to purchase another complete kit just because you traded trucks.

The installation will be a fresh install on the 2026 Tacoma since the diodes tie into the taillight wiring. I attached the installation instructions to this page for you, along with the wiring diagram showing how the diodes and wiring are laid out. That will give you a good reference when you are installing everything on the new truck.

Since you kept the kit from your old Tacoma, you will want to make sure you still have all four diodes, the wiring, 6-way socket, and your 7-way-to-6-way coiled cord before getting started.

Are you moving the rest of your flat tow setup from the 2018 Tacoma over to the new one as well?
