Roof Rack that Can Fit Leer Camper Shell Roof Rack Tracks

Updated 10/05/2026 | Published 09/30/2026

Question:

I want to mount a thule wing evo onto t rail system that is on a leer camper shell. The track me and buddy that installs these things can say with 99 certainty it is a thule Track 60s. The fit kits say they need to be vehicle specific but it is attached to a leer camper shell and the tracks are mounted the same distance horizontally as hardware on thule site says, so what fit kit do I buy if its on a shell. Also are the foot packs the same for t rail and fixed point?

Hey Robert, so Thule doesn't have a fit kit currently that fits to the camper shell roof rack tracks at the moment so right now an option like the Rhino Rack part # Y01-140B-NT would be your best option. This is a complete roof rack that fits the tracks you have now and will give you a set of 65 inch HD style bars. What are you planning on carrying with the rack?

Okay thank you this likely saved me some heartache and money lol. I will seek options in other brands. The goal was to get the cross bars on FB market then buy specific feet/hardware to get on the track. I am just looking to carry a kayak <100 lbs.

@RobertA Makes sense! Yeah I have no idea why Thule got rid of that fit kit as it was very popular.

@JamesonC Wait so you are saying the older models had this fit kit option would you happen to know which models had this availability as I am hunting 3rd party for this stuff first and it seems thule has parts for almost everything they have ever made?

I was very pleased when I was able to fit the feet for the rhino rack directly onto my existing Thule tracks and use the existing rectangular lock nut in the track for the Rhino feet. Otherwise, I would’ve had to pull the end cap off the Thule track which means I would’ve had to unfasten it from the camper she’ll. This said, I am not entirely satisfied with my Rhino rack. First, it whistles. I have tried everything, and I cannot get rid of the whistling. I contacted Rhino, their suggestions did not help. Secondly, just three weeks ago after driving roughly an hour on a gravel road that was not too bad and I was not driving too quickly, a bar came unfastened from the top of the one of the feet. Perhaps I had not tightened it sufficiently, but I’m a pretty strong boy and I generally don’t hesitate to use that strength. In closing, at face value a good rack system, but it is not demonstrating that it is any better than a Thule rack system.

@BillZ sorry to hear about that. I am sure they suggested a fairing already right?
