Can this product be flush mounted to the top of a flat surface? I need it to mount on my storage container on our camping trailer. Swagman Upright Bike Rack for 1 Bike - Roof Rack Crossbars

The Swagman Upright Bike Rack # S64720 is designed to clamp around roof rack crossbars, so there isn't a supported way to mount it flush directly to the top of a storage container.

You could potentially fabricate a mounting method by drilling through the container for the U-bolts, but that would be a custom installation and outside of how Swagman designed the rack to be used.

A better option would be to add crossbars to the top of the storage container first. The Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack # S80510 is designed to bolt to flat, reinforced surfaces like camper roofs and would give you the crossbars needed to properly mount # S64720. You would just want to make sure the storage container is strong enough to support the rack, bike, and forces created while traveling.

Do you just have one bike to mount on the roof? There are other bike rack solutions such as hitch mounted or bumper mounted, so let me know if you want to explore those options. :)
