This 2-bike rack features Thule's patented FitDial system for a sure fit and will mount on your trunk using the six straps, two each on the top, bottom and sides of your trunk. No other components are needed to mount this rack to your Mustang. We (and Thule) do recommend keeping the contact points on the vehicle and rack clean of road grit (and salt in the winter) to prevent such impurities from causing any dulling of your paint finish.
