B and W Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter for Rhino Pin Box

Updated 09/16/2026 | Published 09/10/2026

Question:

I am interested in replacing my rotoflex pinbox with a BandW 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter. I will need the adapter for the rhino box and 3250lb spring. My question is there a minimum pin weight needed to make the spring function properly. I weighed my unit and found it to have 1600lbs of pin weight partially loaded. Is this enough pin weight?

Hey Scot, thanks for all of the info on your current pin box! Based on that the correct B and W fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter would be the part # BW23RV. This is the minimum pin weight range option which basically means it works on basically any fifth wheel pin weight up to 3,250 lbs so it will work great for you! What camper do you have?

I have a 2026 Alliance Avenue 23ml. I asked that question because I thought I had saw somewhere that a minimum of 2000lbs of pin weight was needed for the spring to function properly. Cant seem to find anything online about minimum pin weight.

@ScotK this one doesn't really have a minimum pin weight since it's the lowest rated one.
