Replacement Receiver for Retrax Tonneau Cover on 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:
Hi, Is the RTX89TR the correct p/n for the replacement receiver for my powered tonneau cover? The s/n is 18090210781002. I think I did all the trouble shooting correctly. When I press the open or close button, it will barely move then I have to wait for a while before it is able to do it again. 1 I started with cleaning the terminals at the battery. 2 I had it unplugged for 15 minutes. 3 I checked for voltage coming out of the power plug on the bed side of the cable. I had the same volts that the battery was putting out. 4 I reprogrammed the key fob after I replaced the battery. 5 Blew off the module with compressed air in case there was moisture trapped inside. 6 Checked the width of the track and made sure it is square. Im sure there are more but cant remember it all. The only thing that works is plugging the power wire directly to the motor plug and then it closes flawlessly. Im sure if I reverse the polarity it will open but I havent tried it. 2019 Chevy 1500 High Country. I dont know the exact model of the tonneau cover. I bought the truck used and it came with the truck. It is a roll up type made of aluminum. Thank you.

Hey Garry! Yes, the Replacement Remote Receiver # RTX89TR is the correct replacement for your Retrax cover. The first four digits of your serial number are 1809, which indicates it was manufactured in September 2018. This receiver is designed for Retrax powered covers manufactured after 2017 so it will work with your cover.
Based on your troubleshooting, I agree that the receiver is the problem. Since the cover operates normally when you supply power directly to the motor, the motor and track are functioning properly. The receiver barely operating the motor before cutting out is a good indication that it has failed.

I bought my cover from an auction site. The circuit board was fried. I bought the new one with 2 new remotes. It works as it should. I put directly power to it before i got the new parts and it closed just like yours. Its really expensive to fix but what do you do. It’s worthless if it doesn’t operate
