Solution for Needing Reese Goose Box for 1621 Pin Box

Updated 09/15/2026 | Published 09/02/2026

Question:

I hear etrailer stopped selling Reese Goose Box due to bankruptsy. Do you have any left in your inventory at a reduced price that will fit a Lippert 1621 pin box?

Hey Barry, all of the Reese Goose Boxes we had are all gone. Our best option currently would be the Gen-Y adapter part # GY38FR which provides the same function and instead uses a torsion type spring to cushion the ride quality instead of the air bag of the Goose Box. What camper do you have?

@BarryJ That should have a 1621 pin box on it and the # GY38FR that you referenced would be correct for it. I'd still check the pin box for the model number or measure horizontal distance between mounting bolt centers to verify. If that dimension is 7-7/8 inches the # GY38FR is correct fit.

Alliance indicated it has the Rhino Pin Box even though Lippert said it was the 1621 according to the numbers on their labels I gave them. I measured the distance between the bolt holes at 7.5 inches center to center.

@Barry If you measured 7.5 inches that's a Rhino pin box. What numbers did you check with Lippert from the pin box? For a similar Rhino version you would want the part # GY72SB.

I have a 42v13 and normally carry either a golf cart (900 lbs) or a trike (1,295.00 lbs) in the garage. I've been hearing a lot about the Gen-Y, Morryde and B&W gooseneck and only very little about the B&W gooseneck.

@Barry The B and W is still pretty new. Or at least new enough that not a lot of people have had chance to use it and give feedback. It's interesting how they all kind of came out about same time. The guy we work with who tests a lot of these types of products for his Youtube channel told us he liked the MORryde the best but they were all so close you can't really pick a loser of the bunch.

@JamesonC Did he say what was the deciding factor over the Gen-Y and the B&W?

@BarryJ he just felt it was smoother. the front to back cushioning seemed to be better for what was causing the most chucking.
