Will the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Clear the Spare Tire on My 2026 Jeep Wrangler?

Question:
I have 2026 Wrangler. From end of 2 receiver to back of spare tire is 10.25 inches. Will any of your racks clear the tire?

Hello Robert,
Thanks for writing in.
The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SH22B might work. The measurement I need to make sure is from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest edge of the spare tire. The Sherpa gives you 11-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when it is down in the carrying position. I attached a video where we show this rack clearing a Jeep spare tire.
If that measurement on your 2026 Wrangler is 11" or less, the Sherpa will clear your spare tire. You won't be able to fold the rack up against the Jeep with the spare tire in place, but you will have the clearance you need when carrying your bikes. Please let me know what measurement you come up with. Kuat is a great company, once you get one of their racks, they take care of you for life. They are one of my favorite manufacturers to recommend =)
What kind of bikes do you have, and do you have a specific trail you like to ride? This next spring I am planning on riding/camping the entire Katy Trail here in Missouri. It is 240 miles but pretty flat.

I recently bought the 2" Kuat NV 2 bike rack for my 2023 Ford 150. I also use it on my Wrangler TJ with a rear mounted tire. It fits well and will fold up behind the tire when the rack is not carrying bikes. I also use the rack on my 2022 Acura MDX. I love that rack. It is very stable, tight and holds 2 bikes, either or both my specialize E bike, my specialized mountain bike or my gravel bike.
