Recommended 5th Wheel Rail and Bracket Kit for a 1995 Ford F-250

Updated 09/06/2026 | Published 08/27/2026

Question:

I have a 1995 F250 extended cab long bed. What rail kit do I need for a fifth wheel hitch install? Is spacing between rails standard or is it dependant on fifth wheel hitch brand?

Hey James. To install a set of 5th wheel rails in your 1995 Ford F-250, I recommend the Curt 5th Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit item # C16200. The spacing between is a standard 22" from the center to the center of the rails when they're installed. It is not dependent on the brand of 5th wheel hitch.

The Curt 5th Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit item # C16200 includes the two 5th wheel rails, the four universal mounting brackets, and all the hardware you'll need to attach both to each other and your Ford. This set is universal so they'll definitely fit your F-250's extended long bed.

Please note that the Curt 5th Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit item # C16200 is a universal part. It will require drilling into your F-250's frame. There are no custom fit kits available for your truck that would install in existing holes.

What kind of 5th wheel trailer do you have and do you already have a 5th wheel hitch? If not I'd be happy to make a recommendation for one. I would just need to know what capacity you're looking for. Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

I used this kit on a 2015 f250. The instructions need to be updated as they dont call out newer vehicles, but the install was easy and straight forward. Worst part is drilling the frame, be aware of lines and wires on the back side of your drill locations.

@Glenn I 100% agree with you Glenn. Those universal instructions could use a page or 4 added. That's a great tip and heads up about drilling through the frame. I appreciate you taking the time to share those.

Also had to swap a couple of the brackets as the locations wouldn't allow me to assemble 100% to directions

I installed this in my 2001 ram2500 and use it to haul my fithwheel trailer. I have the same in my 2008 ford and installed 6 more in customers vehicles. I recommend this product
