Will Malone TopTier Load Bar Kit Fit CarryOn Utility Trailer

Updated 09/01/2026 | Published 08/26/2026

Question:

I have a CarryOn 7x12 GWSHS16 Series Utility Trailer. The Deck width is 82. Will the Malone MPG493 Top Tier Utility Trailer Loadbar Kit fit my trailer? The length of the cross bars themselves would fit inside the sides of the trailer. But with the curvature of the vertical supports, I wonder if the system would fit.

Hey John! The curvature of the uprights on the Malone TopTier Load Bar Kit # MPG493 won't be an issue. The uprights run straight up the sides of the trailer, and angle inward near the top to meet the crossbars. Malone officially lists the TopTier for 4'–5' wide trailer decks, so your 82" deck is outside of their standard fitment. However, the crossbars are 78" long so you're only making up about 2" on each side.

As long as you can position the uprights slightly inward along your trailer rails, I don't see why it couldn't work. I just can't guarantee a bolt-on fit without directly testing it. Some modification may be required since your trailer is outside of Malone's tested width range.

What are you planning to carry on the TopTier?
