Can I Tow A Trailer And Carry A Dirt Bike With The Curt D210?
Updated 08/31/2026 | Published 08/25/2026 >
Question:
I am looking at part number D210. I have a 4x8 trailer I want to put a 4 wheeler on and then purchase a motorcycle rack that is like a cargo carrier that sits right at the back of my van. Will this part allow me to tow a trailer and mount a 300lb ish dirtbike on a separate rack at the same time?

Hello Steven,
Thanks for writing in!
Yes, the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 is designed for exactly this type of setup, allowing you to tow your trailer while also using the upper 2" receiver for a hitch-mounted carrier. The upper receiver is rated for 350 lbs, so the big thing to watch with your roughly 300 lb dirt bike is the weight of the motorcycle carrier. The bike and carrier together will need to stay under that 350 lb capacity.
You will also want to keep an eye on your total tongue weight. The # D210 is rated for 750 lbs of tongue weight, and that includes the loaded tongue weight of your 4x8 trailer along with the dirt bike and carrier. Your van and hitch will also need to be rated for everything you are carrying and towing. I attached an image a neighbor submitted, looks like he is loaded up pretty good!
How often are you able to get out riding?
