Updated 08/27/2026 | Published 08/20/2026

Question:

I have a sterliing AT tow bar but am missing some components to hook up with my jeep after market front bumper. I want to hook up to the projected d ring style set up. What adapters do I need to connect to the towbar ??

Hey Al! Since the Sterling All-Terrain tow bar uses the direct connect system you need the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars. If you have a 3/4" shackle use # RM-035 and for a 1" use # RM-035-1. You also need to verify that your aftermarket bumper is rated for flat towing since not all are.

Where are you headed with the Jeep once you get it set up?

I used the Hand K offroad shackles that tie into the frame, they are rated for flat tow and allow you to retain your factory steel bumper.

@Zeddy thanks for sharing! That sounds like a good option to pair with the Roadmaster D-ring mounts if you don't already have an aftermarket bumper installed.
