Hey Tom. The Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer item # MAL43FR can not be stored upright or on it's side due to how the tail lights are mounted on the bumper and the fenders. The crossbars are going to be long enough to move the kayak cradles apart to have room for your two kayaks though. However, they will be hanging over the edge of the crossbars.
For a kayak trailer that can be stored upright, I recommend the Malone MicroSportXT Trailer item # MPG460XT. It has a retractable tongue too that takes the trailer's overall length to only 8-1/4' long when the tongue is retracted. This kayak trailer has rear-frame rubber bumpers so you can stand the trailer upright against a wall. The tail lights are mounted forward of the rear bumper as well.
The Malone MicroSportXT Trailer item # MPG460XT comes with 78" wide crossbars so you'll have plenty of room for your 31” and 29” wide kayaks. This trailer does not come with with cradles for kayaks. The Malone SeaWing Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs item # MPG107MD are going to be a great option to adding a pair of carriers that include tie downs.
What kind of kayaks do you have and where do you plan on storing your new trailer? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
