Looking for a replacement for my Lippert Equa-flex equalizer part number on the back reads 258756. Will the Dexter equalizer k71-654-00 be a viable replacement?

Hi Harold!

The Dexter E Z Flex Equalizer Kit part # K71-654-00 would not be a replacement I’d recommend for your Lippert Equa Flex 258756. The correct replacement for your existing Equa Flex is the Equa Flex Cushioned Equalizer part # LC145546. The Dexter equalizer is considerably shorter than what you have now, so swapping to it would change the geometry of your suspension rather than giving you a direct replacement.

I’d stick with the # LC145546 so you can keep the suspension geometry as close to the original setup as possible and know you’re replacing the worn equalizer with the proper match. If you’re looking at the Dexter because you’re trying to solve a particular ride or suspension issue, though, I’d be happy to dig into that with you before you order anything.

What’s got you thinking about changing from the Equa Flex to the Dexter setup?

I replaced OEM products that came with the trailer. I went with the recommendation of etrailer as I had no experience. At 74, I did the replacement work on my driveway with no help. It was not easy as I also replaced the leaf springs. Lining everything up was the hardest part. E-trailer sent the correct parts.

@Michael Thanks for sharing that, Michael! Replacing the equalizers and leaf springs in the driveway is quite a project, and you’re absolutely right that getting everything lined back up can be the toughest part of the whole job. I’m really glad we were able to get you the right parts and everything came together in the end. How has the trailer been riding since you replaced the suspension?
