Question:
Will the Gen-Y 5th wheel to gooseneck hitch GY72SB replace a Lippert Rhino pin box on a 2023 Momentum 395MS?

Hi Randy,
The Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box part # GY72SB won't fit your 2023 Grand Design Momentum 395MS because it is specifically made for Brinkley trailers. The # GY72SB has a specialized physical profile custom-engineered to clear the fiberglass front cap moldings on Brinkleys.
Instead, you'll need the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box part # GY33GR. The # GY33GR is rated for 24K with a tongue weight of 4,500lbs. It's more highly rated than your Lippert Rhino, however, even with a higher rated hitch you'll be limited by the GVWR of your trailer. The built-in torsion system with absorb any chucking and bounce, so they'll be less stress on your truck and trailer and give you a much smoother ride.
What do you usually carry in the garage of your toy hauler?
