Question:

What as the largest roof cargo box for a 2018 Audi Q5, factory corss-bars, under $900, for standard size suite cases? Do you have a size/model chart for the Q5 like you do for other vehicles? Thanks

The largest roof boxes we have that stay within your budget and still allow the tailgate/hatch to open on your 2018 Q5, you are looking at the following two options:

Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black Nano-Texture # Y95AV
Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black # TH615

We don't have a size/model chart for your vehicle (at least not yet), but we have test fit both of these on a Q5 (a 2013 for the Thule and a 2023 for the Yakima). Both fit perfectly and did not cause any kind of blockage for the rear hatch (see included pictures).

Out of the two, the Yakima is the nicer option due to its being able to open from either side (the Thule only opens from the passenger side), but it is more expensive than the Thule. I also think the Yakima looks a little less like a photon torpedo from Star Trek than the Thule, but that's just my opinion. I can honestly say that you would be very happy with either option, but I do prefer the Yakima with its dual side opening feature.

Are you just wanting this for luggage or will you be carrying other things in it?
