First, get the trailer completely supported on heavy-duty jack stands so there is zero weight on the landing gear. Fully retract the cylinder, disconnect power to the hydraulic system, relieve the pressure, and mark the hydraulic lines before disconnecting them. Cap the lines right away to keep dirt out. From there, remove the footpad and cylinder retaining hardware, then slide the cylinder out of the old leg.

Install the cylinder into the new leg in the same orientation, reinstall the retaining hardware and footpad, then reconnect the hydraulic lines and mount the leg back on the trailer. Once everything is together, cycle the jacks several times to bleed the air out of the hydraulic system and check every fitting for leaks. The biggest thing is keeping everything clean while the hydraulic lines are open and making sure the trailer is securely supported before pulling that cylinder.

The cylinder doesn't just slide out of the leg. The top clevis is longer than the bottom portion of the leg resulting in needing to slide the lower leg and cylinder out of the upper part of the leg. Also removing the lines is not enough as the fittings attached to the cylinder need to be removed or the leg doesn't slide out. Make sure you have enough clearance under the upper leg to slide the cylinder out aa the lower leg and cylinder is greater than 30 inches with the foot removed.
