Slightly Off Axis Curt Rockerball
Updated 08/12/2026 | Published 08/09/2026 >
Question:
I have a 1inch shank Rockerball on Curt hitch mount. After tightening to torque specification there is a slight rotation of the ball assembly. The anti rotation plate is installed correctly and not damaged. Is this cause for concern?

Hey Brad, this is a great question but your Rockerball part # CU46FR being slightly off will not be a problem. It will still function like it needs to and your ride quality will be greatly improved. I'm curious if after you use it the first time if it happens to straighten itself out though.

The picture shows it after about 30 miles of towing. I thought about taking the RockerBall off and inserting a shim between the tabs and hitch mount edge to hold the rotation plate parallel during reinstallation.
