Will Lionshead 16x6J SAEJ1204 Wheels Support A SAILUN 14 PLY S637 235/80R16 Tire?

Updated 08/04/2026 | Published 07/30/2026

Question:

I have a 2023 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS GVWR 11,995 lbs with Curt 5200Lb axles and Lionshead 16x6J SAEJ1204 with maximum weight of 3300lbs. I currently have Goodyear Endurance tires ST235/80R16. I want to switch to SAILUN 14 PLY S637 235/80R16 with a metal valve stems. Will the current Lionshead wheel support the tire and tire pressure? I plan on running the cold pressures at 95psi instead of 110psi. Thanks v/r Karl

Hey Karl, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you are good to make that switch. The Lionhead 16x6J SAE J1204 wheels will handle the Sailun S637 ST235/80R16 Load Range H tires. The wheel itself isn't the limiting factor when it comes to air pressure. The valve stem is what determines the maximum pressure rating, so installing a quality metal high-pressure valve stem is the right move.

Running the Sailuns at 95 PSI is also perfectly fine as long as that pressure supports the actual load on your trailer. There's no requirement to run the full 110 PSI just because that's the maximum pressure molded on the tire. If 95 PSI provides enough load capacity for your axle weights, that's the pressure I'd run. Just make sure the metal valve stems you install are rated for at least the pressure you're using, and you'll have a solid combination. We have a great metal valve stem available, part # AM20906 which will work great for that.

Any cool trips planned with your Reflection once you get the tires switched out?
